Howdy, I'm Shannon Spence! I'm a cartoonist, zinemaker, community organizer, and former medical technologist from Hampton, VA.
I hold a strong belief in the power of comics to move and inspire, and I enjoy creating stories that bring joy or help me to deal with overwhelming emotions. I love experimentation with unique zine formats, cheap and colorful tools, and printing methods.
When I got serious about comics, I founded the Comix Accountability Club in 2022. I also started an indie small press called CART Press in 2025 with my zine bestie Maddie Sackett.
I'm writing a sketchbook journal if you'd like to keep up with my work and woes in the indie comics world.
